Relocate your vertical lift modules or buy new?
FILA Nordic is a leading wholesale company on the Nordic market for creative products and industrial markers. FILA Nordic’s products include paper, pens and creative material that is delivered schools, industries and artists.

In the planning process of moving their warehouse operations FILA Nordic contactaed Relevator to evaluate the residual value of two Kardex Remstarl Shuttle XP 500 from 2017.

FILA Nordic’s question was whether they would profit from relocating their current storage lifts to the new warehouse; or if it would be a better solution to by new units.

Planning the move

Comparing the two options strictly from a direct cost perspective they found out that relocating the vertical lift modules would, without doubt, be the cheapest option. However, the final answer to their question was not going to be answered that easy; FILA Nordic highly valued a smooth and problem-free relocation to their new warehouse. Additionally, not only the storage lifts had to be moved, the thousands of items stored in them had to come along.

With a good residual value, a smooth move was decisive

By helping FILA Nordic plan a smooth move combined with being able to offer a good residual value; Relevator purchased FILA Nordics storage lifts and FILA Nordic bought two new units for their new warehouse.

FILA Nordic bought two new units with trays of the same specification, but with four meters of additional height and some of Kardex’s latest technology to improve picking accuracy.

The new vertical lift modules could be installed in the new warehouse before the move had to take place. FILA Nordic could thereby move the trays directly from the two old units to the two new units without emptying the trays of goods – asolution that saved them hundreds of man-hours.

FILA Nordic received cash in hand to buy new vertical lift modules, a smooth move as well as a new warehouse updated with the latest technology.
