Relevator is delivering a used Kardex Megamat Vertical Storage System to Dragon in Poland

In the fall of 2024, Relevator traveled to Poland to meet with both existing and potential customers. One of those meetings marked the beginning of a truly successful project.

We were invited to Dragon, Poland’s leading chemical manufacturing company, which was facing a specific challenge. An entire room filled with binders and paper documents, none of which had been digitized, and a growing need to free up space for other business operations.

More space, less paper

They needed a smart, space-saving solution—preferably something that could be installed quickly and adapted to the room’s limited floor space but generous ceiling height.

After an initial meeting with one of the Dragons’ owners and their investment manager, we began working together to outline a solution. High ceilings, but limited floor space. Relevator’s proposal: a Kardex Megamat RS 650, a compact Vertical Carousel that could replace the entire archive room while freeing up valuable space in the factory.

Smart reuse with fast delivery

The Vertical Carousel had previously been in operation in Denmark and was stored at our warehouse in Munkedal, ready for delivery. With a height of 9.6 meters and end panels as long as the machine itself, careful planning was required to get it into the building.

A site survey was conducted in collaboration with Kardex in Poland. The premises were inspected, logistics surrounding the assembly area were reviewed, and space was secured for both a scissor lift and a forklift.

Full operation at half the cost

The installation went smoothly and according to plan. Today, the machine is fully operational, and the former archive room has been repurposed for new business needs.

Another major benefit for the customer was the financial value: the new price for a comparable Kardex Megamat RS 650 is around 800,000 SEK. By choosing a used machine from Relevator, they were able to cut their investment in half.
