How Dragon freed up space with a used Vertical Carousel

Out with the Archive, in with Efficiency

In the fall of 2024, Relevator went to Poland to meet with current and potential customers. One of those meetings turned into a particularly successful project.

We were invited to Dragon, Poland’s leading manufacturer of industrial chemicals, who had a very specific challenge. An entire room packed with binders and paper documents, none of it digitalized, and a growing need to use that space for other purposes.

More room, less paper

Dragon were looking for a practical and space saving solution, ideally something quick to install and that could make use of the room’s high ceilings despite the limited floor space.

Together with Kardex’s team in Poland, we conducted a site survey. Checking access point, planning the setup area and making sure there was room for a scissor lift and forklift.

Fast, smart and sustainable

This specific unit had previously been in use in Denmark and was already in stock at our warehouse in Munkedal. At 9.6 meters tall, with side panels the same length, it required careful planning to get it into the building.

Together with Kardex in Poland, a site survey was carried out. The premises were reviewed, logistics around the assembly site and securing space for both scissor lift and truck.

Up and running at half the price

The installation went smoothly and according to schedule. Today, the machine is fully operational, and the old archive room has been turned into usable space for other purposes.

The icing on the cake? The savings. A new Kardex Megamat RS 650 typically cost around €80 000. By purchasing a pre-owned model from Relevator, Dragon was able to cut that investment in half.
