Relevator is selling Sweden's first used AutoStore through its marketplace

Relevator has brokered the sale of a complete used AutoStore system, marking the first such sale in Sweden through an independent broker. The system is now being put to new use at the wholesaler Imazo, which has chosen to automate its operations in order to deliver faster and with greater precision to its customers.

A sustainable path to automation

Imazo, a leading wholesaler in the pet industry, has been exploring ways to streamline its warehouse operations to meet increased demand and shorter lead times. Investing in a brand-new AutoStore system had previously been difficult to justify financially. But through Relevator, they found a solution that combines automation, sustainability, and cost-effectiveness.

The used AutoStore system is currently being reassembled at Imazo's warehouse in Vara.

The entire AutoStore facility has been documented, specified, and coordinated by Relevator, in collaboration with Kardex, which is responsible for dismantling, relocation, and installation. Dismantling will begin in December, and installation is scheduled for January—an unusually tight and rapid process for such a large-scale facility

This project demonstrates that circular warehouse automation is not only possible but also profitable. By reusing complete systems, we create business value, shorter lead times, and tangible environmental benefits,“says” Niklas Nygren, CEO of Relevator.

A used AutoStore offers smarter automation in a whole new way

The repurposed AutoStore solution will replace traditional picking areas and shelving systems in Imazo’s current warehouse. The result will be a compact and flexible system that increases both the accuracy and speed of deliveries to customers without requiring new equipment.

Reusing a complete AutoStore system saves resources, space, and reduces the environmental impact.

This is the first time in Sweden that a used AutoStore has been sold by an independent vendor. Interest has been high, exceeding expectations. This project demonstrates how circular solutions are beginning to seriously transform the automation market“,” says Niklas Nygren, CEO, at Relevator.

Toward a more circular automation industry

Relevator’s business model is all about making the most of what already exists and creating value through reuse. By buying and selling used warehouse automation equipment, Relevator gives new life to Vertical Lift Modules, roller conveyors, and AutoStore systems. At the same time, we help companies adopt a more circular mindset. The project with Imazo demonstrates how reused solutions are becoming a natural part of the logistics of the future, where sustainability and efficiency go hand in hand.

Circular warehouse automation isn’t a vision of the future—it’s already happening. Reused automation solutions deliver both business value and sustainability. That’s how Relevator is driving the shift toward a smarter and more resource-efficient logistics industry“,” says Niklas Nygren, CEO, at Relevator.
