Used conveyor systems get a new lease on life as Relevator helps Stigbergets Bryggeri free up space

When Stigbergets Bryggeri in Gothenburg needed more space for production, two old roller conveyors were the main obstacle. After the brewery had automated parts of its packing line, the machines simply became redundant.

Previously, two people stood by the roller conveyors and lifted boxes at a rapid pace—about seven boxes per minute. But with a new machine in place, that task was eliminated and the roller conveyors came to a standstill. At the same time, the brewery plans to switch from big bags to silos for its malt handling, a move that requires even more floor space.

“We needed to remove the roller conveyors quickly”, says Mikel Aioutz, production manager at Stigbergets. “We agreed on the price right away, and shortly after that, the roller conveyors were gone. It went quickly, we avoided any hassle, and everyone was happy.”

The old roller conveyors were handled by Relevator and quickly resold to a new business: a machine shop in Småland.

“It's nice when things aren't just thrown away. They get used again. It feels just right.”

For Stigbergets, this provided a practical solution in a situation where both time and space were in short supply. For Relevator, it was yet another example of how used warehouse automation can be given a new lease on life. Fast, simple, and sustainable.
