Relevator Carries Out a Rapid Warehouse Relocation Using Used Vertical Lift Modules for Sveflow in Stockholm

When Sveflow, a specialist distributor of hygienic process equipment, outgrew its warehouse, they needed to find a quick solution. The old warehouse contained four Vertical Lift Modules filled with goods, and since a new tenant was set to take over the premises, the machines had to be moved. At the same time, Sveflow had invested in a new, larger warehouse to accommodate its growth. The challenge was to bring in new machines and move all the goods in a short time without disrupting daily operations.

Seeking assistance from the manufacturer of the Vertical Lift Modules turned out to be both expensive and time-consuming. Furthermore, the old machines no longer met Sveflow’s needs. And the timeline was tight, as everything had to be completed in just two weeks.

“We were facing a move with a lot at stake!”, says Stefan Hjortzberg, CEO at Sveflow. “It wasn't just a matter of getting the goods out of the premises. At the same time, we had to keep operations running as usual.”

From Challenge to Effective Warehouse Solution

Relevator took overall responsibility. Four used Weland Compact Twin 3660 units from 2020 were delivered via Relevator, transported, and installed in the new warehouse even before the actual move began. Once the machines were in place, all goods from the old automated storage systems could be transferred immediately, using custom-made packaging to handle the fully loaded trays.

With the help of Relevator, the move was completed in just five days, instead of the two weeks originally planned. A total of about 15 truckloads were transported between the warehouses to move both machinery and goods. Sveflow received a more modern solution that better suits their operations, and they didn’t have to worry about what would happen to the old machinery. Two of them have already found new homes with new customers, thanks to Relevator’s network and expertise in matching the right equipment with the right business. The remaining two are waiting for their next owners.
