We now have two Kardex Megamat RS 650 units, manufactured in 2019 and put into service in 2020. The machines have undergone annual maintenance performed by the Manufacturer and are in very good condition.

The Kardex Megamat RS 650 is one of Kardex’s most powerful Vertical Carousels and is designed to handle heavy loads while maintaining performance and operational reliability. Each carrier (base shelf) has a maximum load capacity of 650 kg, offering great potential for the efficient storage and handling of even heavier goods.

The Vertical Carousel systems are equipped with a total of 34 carriers (base shelves) and 43 trays, in the following configuration:

28 carriers without intermediate shelves, with a height of 348 mm
3 units with two intermediate shelves, for a total of 9 trays, with a clear height of 115 mm
3 units with one middle shelf, for a total of 6 trays, with a clearance height of 170 mm

The machines are also equipped with a so-called Matrix display in the opening. This is an LED display that uses text and symbols to show, for example, the picking location, quantity, and other relevant information. This feature is designed to reduce search time and the risk of picking errors, thereby streamlining the picking process.

To use the features of the Matrix list, integration with an enterprise resource planning system and/or a warehouse management system is required.

A vertical carousel features a design in which the shelves are driven by a chain or belt in a carousel-like motion; the shelves rotate within the machine’s shaft and are then presented at the opening. A Vertical Lift Module, on the other hand, has an elevator that moves down the center of the module, where trays are stored on both the front and back sides. The elevator retrieves trays from inside the machine’s structure and then presents them at the picking opening.

A new, standard-equipped Vertical Storage System typically costs from 600,000 SEK (approx. 700,000 SEK). By choosing a used machine from Relevator, the investment cost can be significantly reduced. Our used Vertical Storage Systems typically cost between 175,000 and 450,000 SEK, depending on the Modell, manufacturing year, and condition.

Relevator always provides a performance warranty and, for installations, usually a machine warranty as well. The performance warranty means that we guarantee the machine we sell is in working order. The machine warranty means that if a defect arises as a result of the installation, we will repair it. The machine warranty covers the mechanics and installation, but any electronics faults are not covered by the warranty.
